When is the event?
Saturday, September 12th, 2026. Competitors should arrive by 8:30am. Opening ceremony is at 9:00am and competition begins at 9:30am.
Where is it?
Kempton Fairgrounds — 83 Community Center Drive, Kempton, PA.
Do I need years of experience to compete?
No. Challenges are designed around real-world fabrication skills that any working welder or fabricator already uses on the job. Cutting, drilling, welding, grinding — that's it. You don't need advanced certifications. The pressure of the clock is what makes it hard, not obscure technical requirements.
How are challenges scored?
Every challenge is scored on speed and accuracy using a point system. You can be fast but inaccurate — you'll lose points. You can be accurate but slow — you'll lose points. The winner is whoever finds the right balance. Most challenges are designed to be completed in under 5 minutes.
Can I bring my own equipment?
No. To keep the playing field level, no personal tools or equipment of any kind may be brought into the competition area. All tools, materials, and safety equipment are provided.
Is there an age limit?
Yes. You must be 18 or older to compete. You must be 14 or older to enter the PPE area where competition and art take place. Children 10 and older may attend the rest of the show.
Do spectators need PPE?
Designated competition viewing areas will require PPE. All other spectator areas — vendor booths, food, games — do not.
Is it rain or shine?
Yes. The event will not be canceled for weather. All competitions are held in a covered, dry environment for safety.
Where can I stay if I'm traveling?
