How The
Competition Works
All 50 competitors rotate through seven individual challenges simultaneously. Each challenge is a real-world fabrication task — cutting, torching, grinding, drilling, welding, and finishing. The kind of work you already do every day.
Every challenge is scored on speed and accuracy. Being fast matters. Being accurate matters more. The sweet spot is both. Most challenges are designed to be completed in under five minutes — but doing them clean under that kind of pressure is where the real competition lives.
You don't need to win every challenge. You need to build the best overall score across all seven to advance to the Finals.
No Advanced
Cert Required
The challenges are intentionally designed to be approachable. If you work in the trades — as a professional welder, shop fabricator, apprentice, or independent operator — you already have the skills to compete.
You don't need years of specialized training or perfect technique. You need to be able to cut, drill, weld, and grind — and do it with some hustle. The pressure of the clock and the crowd is what separates competitors, not technical pedigree.
